Stephanie’s aesthetic expression is shaped by the poetry of casualness, sensuality and absurdity. Her works are located in the fields of installation, sculpture and performance art. She works with given or found materials, spaces and circumstances with all their possibilities and limitations.

Her working method is slow and waiting is an integral part of it. It is playful and pragmatic and invites coincidences. She finds firm anchors for her artistic practice in her childhood and in domestic work. For example, she works with soap bubbles, paper crumpling or mud, and uses a whisk to make paperclay. What she associates with this is a highly emotional awareness: an awareness of banality’s beauty and value.

What exists must pass. And what exists is constantly changing due to internal and external influences. Stephanie accepts these influences. She accepts that not everything can be controlled. She looks for gaps to dive into them – and to develop a surprising form for what she had found.
